Monday the 31th...

Happy Halloween!! I didn't have to work today which was great and I got to go to MNBS, where we all dressed up, played games and just hung out. It was a lot of fun. Those are my friends... Gotta Love em!

What I read Numbers 2....

So, when I was a kid, I used to think of all the people that were Israelites, that they were a cute little farming town not a amazing amount of people. It makes the old Bible story that much more amazing! Here is the number of all the men, that was just the men, we're not even including all the women of the nation...

32 These are the Israelites, counted according to their families. All the men in the camps, by their divisions, number 603,550. 33 The Levites, however, were not counted along with the other Israelites, as the LORD commanded Moses.

That the Lord delivered just 100 people through the water would have been amazing. But since he sent them with more than just this amount of people is pretty outstanding. What an amazing God we serve that he can do such wondrous works!

Good Night and God Bless!!

Randolph Airshow! (118)

Sunday the 30th...

I went to church and then after I went with my sophomore girls and the other leader TP. We had a lot of fun seeing all of the airplanes and just spending time together. After the Airshow I went to help set up for the halloween party at the S's House. It was fun, the pumpkins look awesome! Overall, a really fun day!

What I read Numbers 1...

I think this is interesting the intense amount of pressure put upon the Levites and not only that, but the vast amount of responsibility that was given to the Levites.

50 Instead, appoint the Levites to be in charge of the tabernacle of the covenant law—over all its furnishings and everything belonging to it. They are to carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; they are to take care of it and encamp around it. 51Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall do it. Anyone else who approaches it is to be put to death. 52The Israelites are to set up their tents by divisions, each of them in their own camp under their standard. 53 The Levites, however, are to set up their tents around the tabernacle of the covenant law so that my wrath will not fall on the Israelite community. The Levites are to be responsible for the care of the tabernacle of the covenant law.”

54 The Israelites did all this just as the LORD commanded Moses.

As you can see the Levites did just as they were told, they did not murmur about all they had to do or that no one else had the same responsibility. To who much is given much is required... I am not entirely sure where that quote came from. But I believe that it is very true. The Levites were allowed into the presence of God. They were required to keep the commandments, and to make atonement for all of Israel. I don't know if all that was required or given to me. I'm not entirely sure that I would be able to live up to all the requirements places upon me.

Good Night and God Bless!!

She remembered my SMILE (117)

Saturday the 29th...
Today I woke up at 0430 like I have all week. My stupid bladder work me up. After relieving myself I went back to sleep and was able to sleep 3 more hours, I had fallen asleep with the light on last night after going to see the movie with TF last night. We had a ton of fun. When I woke up the next time I decided to get up. I took a shower and got ready for the day. I went to an event for the Sophia group I am in on Sunday mornings. We had a pumpkin lunch, learned a few new recipes and had a lot of fun, getting to know some of the women a little better. It is so fun to get to know people on a more personal level, because you finally get to build relationships. After I got home I went to the store to get a few things to help me organize my room. I went to try to use the free movie pass I got from a friend. However, when I got there the lady told me that they were no longer accepting it. She then said, you look mad and asked if I wanted to see her manager. When I asked her to explain herself. I got more frustrated. She told me they aren't accepting print outs from the internet but that you actually need the ticket from the mail. At that point I didn't want to deal with people anymore so I slid her the unredeemable ticket without saying anything into the stupid microphone thing and walked off. Last night they told me they were still accepting it but just not on new movies. Instead of having to talk to someone else and getting more frustrated I just left. It felt nice to just walk away. I know it may have come off rude. But I'm tired of being told no, no, no. So I left. I went to SB for a while and read my bible. It was good because it helped me relax some. I am now on first name basis with the barista that works there. Haha. I totally remembered her name from the last time that I was there and she kept trying to guess my name. She remembered my face and my smile, but could' t place my name. She was really sweet and told me I made her day by remembering her name. Sometimes just the simple things can make a big difference. It's all in the smile! :)

What I read Leviticus 27...

I love how the Lord explains how to give unto him, but that the first 10% of everything we have belongs to him.

26 “‘No one, however, may dedicate the firstborn of an animal, since the firstborn already belongs to the LORD; whether an ox or a sheep, it is the LORD’s.

I love that, you cannot give to the Lord what is already his. Well, you can however, you cannot cal it your dedication or an offering unto the Lord because it already belongs to him. I think that is interesting because too often we thing that we can give that 10% as our offering. However, it is already his, so whatever we give upon that will be considered our offering. Thank you Lord for giving us so much, a place to live, a job, a family, an income. I have far more than I deserve, but I thank you for all that I have.

Good Night and God Bless!!

Mom's are Awesome! (116)

Friday the 28th...
Today is a new day. It is my mother's birthday! She is by far one of the best women of faith I know. I love that when everything around me feels like it is crumbling, I can call her and she helps me put my life into perspective that things are really not as bad as they may seem. She is such a blessing to me. I do not know the type of woman I would be without her. She has been such a great influence in my life. I am so thankful that she helps remind me of God's greatness, she listens when I don't know what to say. She understands when I am not making sense at all. She gives great advice when I don't know what to do next. I am so glad that today she was born, for without her I would not be alive. Mom's are such a blessing they take such good care of us. God Bless my Mom she is one of the most amazing people I know!!

What I read Leviticus 26...

Maybe because it's my mom's birthday and I just read earlier about the whole obeying your father and mother this really struck me, but I find it interesting that he not only told them to obey him but explained to the people their rewards as well as the consequences of not obeying him. I thought this verse was rather interesting...

23 “‘If in spite of these things you do not accept my correction but continue to be hostile toward me, 24 I myself will be hostile toward you and will afflict you for your sins seven times over. 25And I will bring the sword on you to avenge the breaking of the covenant. When you withdraw into your cities, I will send a plague among you, and you will be given into enemy hands.

If we disobey him the very hands that brought them out of Egypt would also be the same to bring affliction over them. It reminds me of my mothers love for me. She took care of me, she carried me, she bore me, she taught me and I was to obey her. Yet when I didn't the same hand that brought so much love also delivered a hard strike upon my bear bottom. I don't resent my mother at all for any of the spankings I received for they were all well deserved and I am sure there were times I got away with stuff when I probably should not have and should have received such a spanking for my transgressions. Yet she loved me and she wanted me to grow up to be a woman that was respectful and obedient. Had she let me run rampant I would not be the woman I am today. I know I am not perfect, but thanks to my mom and dad I am a lot closer than I would have been if I had been left to my own devices. Just as my parents disciplined me, so does God discipline us. He wants us to become strong, respectful and obedient to him. I am so glad that he cares enough about me to chasten me and encourage me.

Good Night and God Bless!

Audience of One (115)

Thursday the 27th...
Today had to be one of my worst days at work. My friend who I was precepting again and I got into a bit of trouble at every turn it felt like. A couple of the nurses seemed to get really upset with us. It was a bit of a depressing day. I don't think I have yet to be so frustrated. I can handle teasing better than most, but once you start criticizing my character I get very defensive. I am a hardworking person and I hope that people don't think I'm a lazy. I know I am not working for them. I am working for the Lord, for an audience of one, and yet they still have the ability to affect my mood. I hate that I allowed them to tear me down. As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." I wish I was thinking that when they kept ragging on me. I need to realize that people do not help create my joy. My joy comes from the Lord, not from man. I need to remember to fear the Lord and not man. Lord give me strength when I have yet not to bear.

What I read Leviticus 25...

I love that the Lord also provides for those less fortunate, for he knows are fleshly desires and that we are to fear him and not what others may think of us.

17 Do not take advantage of each other, but fear your God. I am the LORD your God.

35 “‘If any of your fellow Israelites become poor and are unable to support themselves among you, help them as you would a foreigner and stranger, so they can continue to live among you. 36Do not take interest or any profit from them, but fear your God, so that they may continue to live among you. 37 You must not lend them money at interest or sell them food at a profit. 38 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan and to be your God.

It is interesting that he has to continually remind them that he is the Lord who brought them out of the land of Egypt. You would think that is something that still resonated in their hearts and in their minds. Yet he still has to remind them constantly, just as nowadays he still has to remind us of how amazing he is and the power that he has. I wish we could just for a second be worthy of his Love, however, that is why his love is so amazing, because we are not worthy of it and yet he still gives it abundantly.

Good Night and God Bless!

Room to Improve (114)

Wednesday the 26th...

I woke up and went to my PT test this morning. I passed!!! I didn't get above a 90, however, I did pass and so now I need to take it again in 6 months, I know last time I took my test I was going to try to do better. Maybe this time I will actually hold true to my plan and get above a 90 next time. At least I have plenty of room to improve. After I left my PT test I drove to work and showered and then went to back to the work grind. It was a pretty good day overall. We had some learning of reversal agents which was good to hear about. I really enjoy learning more. I also really like the CRNA that was teaching us. He is so helpful and willing to teach. Some people are just born to be teachers and others are not. I am so grateful for those that are born teachers, because a new LT and new nurse like me has so much to learn.

What I read Leviticus 24...

For all the movies that use God's name in vain. When they call out Jesus, or they say OMG, or they imply it. Why don't we do this anymore. For if we did I think they would stop cursing with God's name and not only that. We might have fewer people in rehab or in places of position that can impact the minds of our youth, for they are the ones that truly reach the impressionable minds. Such as movie stars, song writers, singers, people who perform plays or work with young children. Such as in these verses:

13 Then the LORD said to Moses: 14 “Take the blasphemer outside the camp. All those who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the entire assembly is to stone him. 15 Say to the Israelites: ‘Anyone who curses their God will be held responsible;16 anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD is to be put to death. The entire assembly must stone them. Whether foreigner or native-born, when they blaspheme the Name they are to be put to death.

If this was true would we take everyone out of the city and then kill em and then come back in. That would be a lot of people being stoned, and a lot of people being stoned. How many people watch these movies or read these books, or listen to these songs and yet we tolerate our saviors name being used in a way it was never meant to be said. We need to stand up and stone em. Okay so maybe not but still I wish I had the ability to go "I dream of Jeanie on the world and poof all the bad words or all the phrases of taking the Lords name in vain." I think the most interesting thing is not just that these issues were handled with so abruptly but that they are still so prevalent today, and not just prevalent but seemingly running rampant now. Lord where are we headed if not towards great and imminent destruction. Soon everything will burn, but for now the Lord is allowing time for as many people as possible to come to know him, before he returns. Thank you for your love and grace!

Good Night and God Bless!

Learning to Grow (113)

Tuesday the 25th...
So, I'm not sure if it's irony or if the Lord just likes playing with my mind. Today I was precepting a friend who had yet to work in that area before. So, I was kind of showing her the ropes and the way we do things. However, a couple of things arose that I was not so sure upon. I took the challenge as a way to grow and a learning experience. However, when one of the nurses said she would help us. Instead of helping she just pointed out to us everything that we were doing wrong. It is quite frustrating when people just watch you fail and only point out your flaws instead of helping you learn and grow. I was a bit frustrated. Although, I was just saying that the Lord gives us opportunity to grow and draw near to him. I found myself trying to just shrug it off and not worry about it. Although, instead of just giving it to the Lord I tried to deal with it in my human nature and ended up getting mad and somewhat gossiping over my frustration. Well, at least he is a Lord of second chances and allows us the ability to keep trying.

What I read Leviticus 23....

I cannot attempt to paraphrase the following so I am going to leave it as is.... This is what I read:

1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘These are my appointed festivals, the appointed festivals of the LORD, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies.

The Sabbath

3 “‘There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a sabbath to the LORD.

The Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread

4 “‘These are the LORD’s appointed festivals, the sacred assemblies you are to proclaim at their appointed times: 5 The LORD’s Passover begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. 6 On the fifteenth day of that month the LORD’s Festival of Unleavened Bread begins; for seven days you must eat bread made without yeast. 7 On the first day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. 8 For seven days present a food offering to the LORD. And on the seventh day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work.’”

Offering the Firstfruits

9 The LORD said to Moses, 10 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter the land I am going to give you and you reap its harvest, bring to the priest a sheaf of the first grain you harvest. 11 He is to wave the sheaf before the LORD so it will be accepted on your behalf; the priest is to wave it on the day after the Sabbath. 12 On the day you wave the sheaf, you must sacrifice as a burnt offering to the LORD a lamb a year old without defect, 13 together with its grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah[a] of the finest flour mixed with olive oil—a food offering presented to the LORD, a pleasing aroma—and its drink offering of a quarter of a hin[b] of wine. 14 You must not eat any bread, or roasted or new grain, until the very day you bring this offering to your God. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live.

The Festival of Weeks

15 “‘From the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, count off seven full weeks. 16 Count off fifty days up to the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to the LORD. 17 From wherever you live, bring two loaves made of two-tenths of an ephah of the finest flour, baked with yeast, as a wave offering of firstfruits to the LORD. 18 Present with this bread seven male lambs, each a year old and without defect, one young bull and two rams. They will be a burnt offering to the LORD, together with their grain offerings and drink offerings—a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the LORD. 19 Then sacrifice one male goat for a sin offering[c]and two lambs, each a year old, for a fellowship offering. 20 The priest is to wave the two lambs before the LORD as a wave offering, together with the bread of the firstfruits. They are a sacred offering to the LORD for the priest. 21 On that same day you are to proclaim a sacred assembly and do no regular work. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live.

22 “‘When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among you. I am the LORD your God.’”

The Festival of Trumpets

23 The LORD said to Moses, 24 “Say to the Israelites: ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of sabbath rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. 25 Do no regular work, but present a food offering to the LORD.’”

The Day of Atonement

26 The LORD said to Moses, 27 “The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. Hold a sacred assembly and deny yourselves,[d] and present a food offering to the LORD. 28 Do not do any work on that day, because it is the Day of Atonement, when atonement is made for you before the LORD your God. 29Those who do not deny themselves on that day must be cut off from their people. 30 I will destroy from among their people anyone who does any work on that day. 31 You shall do no work at all. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live. 32 It is a day of sabbath rest for you, and you must deny yourselves. From the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening you are to observe your sabbath.”

The Festival of Tabernacles

33 The LORD said to Moses, 34 “Say to the Israelites: ‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the LORD’s Festival of Tabernacles begins, and it lasts for seven days. 35 The first day is a sacred assembly; do no regular work. 36 For seven days present food offerings to the LORD, and on the eighth day hold a sacred assembly and present a food offering to the LORD. It is the closing special assembly; do no regular work.

37 (“‘These are the LORD’s appointed festivals, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies for bringing food offerings to the LORD—the burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings required for each day. 38 These offerings are in addition to those for the LORD’s Sabbaths and[e] in addition to your gifts and whatever you have vowed and all the freewill offerings you give to the LORD.)

39 “‘So beginning with the fifteenth day of the seventh month, after you have gathered the crops of the land, celebrate the festival to the LORD for seven days; the first day is a day of sabbath rest, and the eighth day also is a day of sabbath rest. 40On the first day you are to take branches from luxuriant trees—from palms, willows and other leafy trees—and rejoice before the LORD your God for seven days. 41 Celebrate this as a festival to the LORD for seven days each year. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come; celebrate it in the seventh month. 42 Live in temporary shelters for seven days: All native-born Israelites are to live in such shelters 43 so your descendants will know that I had the Israelites live in temporary shelters when I brought them out of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.’”

44 So Moses announced to the Israelites the appointed festivals of the LORD.

What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger (112)

Monday the 24th...
I had the day off so I ended up sleeping it. Oh it was such a blessing to be able to sleep in and get some rest finally. I then was going to go see a movie with a friend. However, the movie we were going to watch was not until later. So, our movie date was foiled, so we decided to go get lunch together and Carrino's. It was good to get to know her a little better. It's interesting how you can go to church with someone for months, but until you actually try to get to know them, you will never know what kind of person they are or what in their life has shaped who they have become. The Lord gives us trials and difficulties in our lives for a reason. Sometimes I don't always understand why. However, I do believe that most of all it allows us a chance to grow so that we can learn to trust upon him more and to lean not upon our own understanding, but to lean upon him in our time of struggle. He never gives us more than we can handle and I need to take comfort in that for sometimes I think he pushes it kind of close. But I am glad he never gives up on us. He keeps taking care of us and keeps challenging us.

What I read Leviticus 22...
In the following verses, I think the reason the Lord stresses so strongly that they are not to profane his name and are to keep it holy, is because the people of Israel look up to them. They are an example to follow and to emulate. Too often we look to other people to see what is holy instead of following after the Lord's example. However, the Lord raises up people that he deems righteous and have a heart for him. Their lives though not perfect, should reflect God's love to his people.

1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 “Tell Aaron and his sons to treat with respect the sacred offerings the Israelites consecrate to me, so they will not profane my holy name. I am the LORD.

31 “Keep my commands and follow them. I am the LORD. 32 Do not profane my holy name, for I must be acknowledged as holy by the Israelites. I am the LORD, who made you holy 33 and who brought you out of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD.”

Good Night and God Bless!!

Here or There (111)

Sunday the 23rd...
I went to church and one of my girls had some really valid things to say to me about feeling frustrated about me being in the AF and the idea that I might leave and she was afraid if she got close to me that I would leave her. I know that it is a possibility. And I will not always be in Texas the rest of my life. However, as I was thinking about it. The Lord puts people in your life as a way to help you grow. Sometimes people come and sometimes people go. But to have them in your life is always a blessing for the time that you get to share together. I hope that I can be a blessing in her life and in the lives of my other girls in our group. They have been such a blessing to me and I love them so. I cannot wait to see what other things the Lord will show us in the years to come that I can be part of.

What I read Leviticus 21....

I think the rules of the priests are very interesting especially, if you consider these rules to those of priests today in the catholic faith.

7 “‘They must not marry women defiled by prostitution or divorced from their husbands, because priests are holy to their God. 8Regard them as holy, because they offer up the food of your God. Consider them holy, because I the LORD am holy—I who make you holy.

I just thought that was very interesting. Nowadays priests cannot marry. Not only that but some of them are not only not marrying, but lusting after little boys. I have to admit, when I think of homosexuality it is just a way to show major pride of your own sex. If you are attracted or lust after someone of the sex as you. You have become so prideful of your own sex that you want to sexual relations with someone that looks like you. The reason man was made for woman, was because the two of them together complete each other and in their joint marriage they display all the characters and qualities of the Lord; God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. a loving mother, a protective father, beautiful, just, loving, righteous. I am so grateful for the union that he has established between man and woman. Thank you Lord for the blessing you have given us in terms of providing such a wonderful example of who you are.

Are you an Angel? (110)

Saturday the 22nd...
I worked again. I was in charge. It wasn't a super busy saturday. However, it was a constantly busy day. I don't think I was able to really sit around, because there was always something going on. I did however get to work with some friends. I got to know a little bit more about some of them too. It was a really great day overall. One of my patients asked me if he was in Heaven, because he thought I was an angel. Golly, I love the compliments you get when people are coming off anesthesia.

What I read Leviticus 20...

The Lord puts all these decrees and laws upon the people, because they were doing this stuff... I read all these decrees and I think about it and how awful it all is. I love this verse as my take away... v.7-8

7 “‘Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the LORD your God. 8 Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the LORD, who makes you holy.

I love that the Lord wants us to be like him. We are always yearning to be like him, but we can be like him if we consecrate ourselves to him. We were made in his image and he sent his son to save all of us from our sins. I am so thankful that he makes us holy, not us who make ourselves holy. Because I could never become holy on my own. Just as he saved us, I don't have to try to save myself for he has already done that for us. Blessed is he!!

Good Night and God Bless!

Moderate Sedation Certified (109)

Friday the 21st...
I worked again with the CRNAs doing the class. I was joking with them that now that I've heard it 7 times I could teach the last class. They joking back with me kept telling me that if I wanted to get certified in moderate sedation that I was going to have to teach the whole last class and that they were just going to leave and I could finish it up. The LtCol also teased me that I when he does the class again in March that I am I going to come out and help again. They however did not make me teach the last class and I did get certified in Moderate Sedation. I learned a lot. I am really glad that I helped out because after taking care of the patients and then hearing about the effects of the drugs that my patients get, it makes more sense and I was able to understand the process better. I'm really glad I was able to learn more, this way I can help take care of my patients better.

What I read Leviticus 19

All I can say is this is awesome!! The Lord we serve is just and righteous and loving and it continually shows in his word to us. I would try to paraphrase this or pick out my favorite parts, but too much of it is just so awesome I have to just leave it as is. For He is good.

1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 “Speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them: ‘Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy.

3 “‘Each of you must respect your mother and father, and you must observe my Sabbaths. I am the LORD your God.

4 “‘Do not turn to idols or make metal gods for yourselves. I am the LORD your God.

5 “‘When you sacrifice a fellowship offering to the LORD, sacrifice it in such a way that it will be accepted on your behalf. 6 It shall be eaten on the day you sacrifice it or on the next day; anything left over until the third day must be burned up. 7 If any of it is eaten on the third day, it is impure and will not be accepted. 8Whoever eats it will be held responsible because they have desecrated what is holy to the LORD; they must be cut off from their people.

9 “‘When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest.10 Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the LORD your God.

11 “‘Do not steal.

“‘Do not lie.

“‘Do not deceive one another.

12 “‘Do not swear falsely by my name and so profane the name of your God. I am the LORD.

13 “‘Do not defraud or rob your neighbor.

“‘Do not hold back the wages of a hired worker overnight.

14 “‘Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but fear your God. I am the LORD.

15 “‘Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.

16 “‘Do not go about spreading slander among your people.

“‘Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life. I am the LORD.

17 “‘Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in their guilt.

18 “‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

19 “‘Keep my decrees.

“‘Do not mate different kinds of animals.

“‘Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed.

“‘Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material.

20 “‘If a man sleeps with a female slave who is promised to another man but who has not been ransomed or given her freedom, there must be due punishment.[a] Yet they are not to be put to death, because she had not been freed. 21 The man, however, must bring a ram to the entrance to the tent of meeting for a guilt offering to the LORD. 22 With the ram of the guilt offering the priest is to make atonement for him before the LORD for the sin he has committed, and his sin will be forgiven.

23 “‘When you enter the land and plant any kind of fruit tree, regard its fruit as forbidden.[b] For three years you are to consider it forbidden[c]; it must not be eaten. 24 In the fourth year all its fruit will be holy, an offering of praise to the LORD. 25 But in the fifth year you may eat its fruit. In this way your harvest will be increased. I am the LORD your God.

26 “‘Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it.

“‘Do not practice divination or seek omens.

27 “‘Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.

28 “‘Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.

29 “‘Do not degrade your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will turn to prostitution and be filled with wickedness.

30 “‘Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD.

31 “‘Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.

32 “‘Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD.

33 “‘When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. 34 The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

35 “‘Do not use dishonest standards when measuring length, weight or quantity. 36 Use honest scales and honest weights, an honest ephah[d] and an honest hin.[e] I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt.

37 “‘Keep all my decrees and all my laws and follow them. I am the LORD.’”

v.28 kind of hit home for me, since I have a tattoo. However, back then I think it has a lot of different meanings than my tattoos. For example this is one of them...

If you know what agape means than you would know that it is not just love,
this word represents divine, unconditional, self-sacrificing, active, volitional, and thoughtful love.
I know that my body is his temple. I know I am a sinner, and I make mistakes, but this was not what I would consider one of my mistakes. I am glad to display the name of Christ because they remind me daily of His love, His truth and His grace for me.

Good Night and God Bless!!

Moderate Sedation Class(108)

Thursday the 20th...

Today I worked with two of the CRNAs that work with me. They taught a moderate sedation course and I helped teach the recovery of sedation patients class. I got to listen to them teach a few classes and helped out.

What I read Leviticus 18

Personally, I think this passage is great, because pretty much all of this stuff grosses me out, not to mention, we have found that inbreeding produces children that are not as together or successful as those that are not. Not to mention the distrust and the issues that can arise if these were to occur. Just read this and see how good a God we serve because he takes care of us.

1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘I am the LORD your God. 3 You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices. 4 You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the LORD your God. 5 Keep my decrees and laws, for the person who obeys them will live by them. I am the LORD.

6 “‘No one is to approach any close relative to have sexual relations. I am the LORD.

7 “‘Do not dishonor your father by having sexual relations with your mother. She is your mother; do not have relations with her.

8 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your father’s wife; that would dishonor your father.

9 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your sister, either your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether she was born in the same home or elsewhere.

10 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter; that would dishonor you.

11 “‘Do not have sexual relations with the daughter of your father’s wife, born to your father; she is your sister.

12 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your father’s sister; she is your father’s close relative.

13 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your mother’s sister, because she is your mother’s close relative.

14 “‘Do not dishonor your father’s brother by approaching his wife to have sexual relations; she is your aunt.

15 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your daughter-in-law. She is your son’s wife; do not have relations with her.

16 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your brother’s wife; that would dishonor your brother.

17 “‘Do not have sexual relations with both a woman and her daughter. Do not have sexual relations with either her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter; they are her close relatives. That is wickedness.

18 “‘Do not take your wife’s sister as a rival wife and have sexual relations with her while your wife is living.

19 “‘Do not approach a woman to have sexual relations during the uncleanness of her monthly period.

20 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your neighbor’s wife and defile yourself with her.

21 “‘Do not give any of your children to be sacrificed to Molek, for you must not profane the name of your God. I am the LORD.

22 “‘Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.

23 “‘Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion.

24 “‘Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways, because this is how the nations that I am going to drive out before you became defiled. 25 Even the land was defiled; so I punished it for its sin, and the land vomited out its inhabitants. 26 But you must keep my decrees and my laws. The native-born and the foreigners residing among you must not do any of these detestable things, 27 for all these things were done by the people who lived in the land before you, and the land became defiled. 28 And if you defile the land, it will vomit you out as it vomited out the nations that were before you.

29 “‘Everyone who does any of these detestable things—such persons must be cut off from their people. 30 Keep my requirements and do not follow any of the detestable customs that were practiced before you came and do not defile yourselves with them. I am the LORD your God.’”

SDS fun (107)

Wednesday the 19th... I worked in Same Say area... it wasn't too bad I was charge for a little while and then just worked with my own patients. Overall, a very relaxing day.

What I read Leviticus 17
The Lord's rules and regulations are just to keep his people safe and take care of them. We are not to eat blood, because it can make us sick. Makes sense to me that we should not eat blood, or drink it for what could be in it. From a nursing perspective I love that the lord watches over us and takes care of us even from things we do not yet grasp, like microbes and bacteria and viruses that could kill us. He may not explain to us right away, because we cannot grasp what or how he is protecting us, but yet he still does. It is like with a little child, you tell them not to touch the oven because it will burn them. They have never experienced a burn and they don't know what it is. However, they still trust us and even if they cannot understand the burn process. I am so thankful for his provision and protection.

Happy Anniversary (106)

Tuesday the 18th...

Today I got up and was supposed to take my PT test, when I showed up at the Track some people said they were doing the testing at the gym... so I went to the gym, only to find out they are only testing people on profiles today, and the rest of us are to wait to reschedule are PT test, because there were high winds today. Which I think is silly, because I would go running in those kind of conditions any ways, isn't fit to fight in any weather not just pretty weather or maybe that is just me. After my test getting cancelled I went to WHMC where I saw a bunch of people that I used to work with and chatted with some friends. Then after WHMC, I went home, showered and got ready for the day. I did a little bit of cleaning but not much. I ended up taking a nap and then going to watch a movie with my friend RV. I told him I was winning to see any movie but The Thing... and somehow that is the movie we ended up watching although, we told the lady at the ticket booth we wanted to see Moneyball. After we ordered and the movie started we realized we were in the wrong theater.... OOPS, oh well so I watched the movie, not my favorite, but I watched it. After the movie I went to starbucks and did some reading, then my friend JK called me so I left to go chat with her. It was nice to talk and catch up on each other's lives because I miss her so much. She is so awesome and I love her to pieces and she is getting married and has a lot going on right now and I am so excited for her. Then after chatting I decided to watch a movie and then just chill for a while. I was realizing that today is my one year anniversary of being in the AF. Kind of crazy that a whole year has gone by and that last year I was in Montgomery, AL. Acting like an idiot trying to figure out what they wanted from me. I wasn't allowed to talk to anyone really, because I had no roommate and we weren't allowed to talk for like the first couple days. It was a very intense time, but somehow I have made it a whole year now. My how the Lord provides and what a blessing it is to be in his will. I know I am where I am supposed to be. So crazy, well happy anniversary to me! haha :)

What I read Leviticus 16...

I think it is amazing that the Lord gives us such direction in v. 2 He commands,

2 The LORD said to Moses: “Tell your brother Aaron that he is not to come whenever he chooses into the Most Holy Place behind the curtain in front of the atonement cover on the ark, or else he will die. For I will appear in the cloud over the atonement cover.

I love that the Lord gave him a clear sign of when they are to meet, so that the same tragedy does not befall him that happened to his sons. I am even more grateful that the curtain is now broken and I can come to the Lord whenever I want.

34 “This is to be a lasting ordinance for you: Atonement is to be made once a year for all the sins of the Israelites.”

And it was done, as the LORD commanded Moses.

Lord I am so thankful that you make atonement for us through the blood of your son. I am so grateful I do not have to present a calf or a goat just to come before the Lord, because you are a God who had a plan in your good and perfect son, who bear all sin, that I can be made clean.

Good Night and God Bless!

Hi Ho Hi Ho (105)

Monday the 17th..

Hi ho hi ho it's back to work I go... I worked in SDS and was training one of the nurses to that area, since she had never worked that side before, I think I need to work on my ability to teach other people. Then I went home and relaxed and watched a movie.

What I read Leviticus 15...

I love that the Lord continually takes care of us and that there is a way to become clean again. Most of all, I noticed we are always unclean until evening. It reminds me of Lamentations 3:22-23:
22 Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.

I love that his mercy saves us and that they not only take care of us but the renew daily and cover us. I am so thankful for that, because I am pretty sure I would be out of luck if they did not. I know I am a sinner and he takes care of me daily and thus provides a way for me to cleanse myself daily of all my yucky gross sin. Thank you Lord!

Good Night and God Bless!

I am here to pump you up! (104)

Sunday the 16th..

It was my first day back to work. It always feels a little weird, but I think having my first day back on a weekend softens the blow, of going from doing nothing to being super busy. I ended up doing power hour, which consisted of doing 10 push ups every hour and sometimes increasing by one pushup on the next hour. It was good, I think I ended up doing about 120 something pushups and on my second to last one, I even got some of the anesthesiologists, and techs in there to do them with me. We had Jimmy Johns for lunch thanks to RV, which was delicious. Then I left to go home and enjoy the rest of my sunday night by stressing about my PT test on tuesday. I did a bunch of sit-ups when I got home. However, nothing helped to calm my mind and test anxiety.

What I read Leviticus 14...

In this chapter the Lord provides a way on how to cleanse yourself if you do get some sort of skin disease or a mold. The Lord not only tells them how to protect the community, but also tells on how to cleanse the one that has the disease. It is interesting because back then if you got some sort of disease it was a sign of your sin agains the Lord. I think too often people still think that way. Granted we are all sinners and all fall short of the glory of God. However, sometimes we are given times of sufferings as a way to help us grow and lean upon him. I do not believe it is always a sign of sin in someones life, for if that was the case we would all be walking around with crazy diseases and dying off every second, because we are all sinners.

Traveling (103)

Saturday the 15th..

We woke up and left for breakfast before I got on the plane. We went to einstein bagels, which was a great breakfast, sadly here in the south they don't really believe in bagels for breakfast. But it was delicious. Then after breakfast, BH drove me to the airport, where we said goodbye and resolved that we need to do this more often, that is visit each other. Or perhaps have yearly trips, which I hope that we do. Then I waited in line about an hour, one line to get my ticket and check my bag, and then other line was the line to get through security. I love to people watch while standing in line. I always wonder what kind of things they must be doing, or thinking while they are standing there. After boarding the plane, I didn't have to change planes, but I had two stops before we got there, one in Denver and another in Houston. It was a long day, about 6 hours I think in total. My friend CM picked me up from the airport looking adorable as per her usual. It was good to see her and chat since, we haven't talked in probably 2 to 3 weeks. She left and I ordered pizza. It was a good choice I think since I was starving.

What I read Leviticus 13...

I believe that this also another ways that the Lord takes care of us in the case of molds and in skin diseases. He already knew all the names of the molds, before man knew them. He knew how they could hurt and kill man, and through his teaching he taught them how to take care of themselves and not die from the mold, or from the skin diseases that could kill them or spread to other people. Blessed is he that takes care of us and watched over us. Amen

Good Night and God Bless!
